The Joys of Conservatism

As I speak to Americans with young children, I hear a concern for the world in which their children will be raised. They fear the indoctrination by Hollywood and the persistent infiltration of liberal ideologies flowing through the American Public School System. Pornography has entered the mainstream. It used to be hidden behind the tinted windows of adult bookstores, now they stare at you from behind the convenient store counter when you pick up a gallon of milk. Our children are bombarded with images of sex, violence, terrorism, homosexuality, infidelity, corruption, and almost anything imaginable on the television. I understand what these parents are saying about the world and what it will be like for their children. I'm not concerned so much with what it will be as I am with what it is now. You see, I can do something now that will make it better for the future. That is the joy of being a conservative.
As a conservative, I cherish the ideologies of freedom, justice, and liberty. Did you know there are those in our America that want to remove these fundamentals of a prosperous society? I came across a list of plans called the "Communist Goals of 1963", and you would be dumbfounded as an American to see this list. Twenty-seven of the forty-five items have already been implemented with seven more being actively worked on by various groups. Now, you will not find many citizens who claim to be a communist. Those who hold to the ideology of communism are subtle, appearing to the common person as a liberal Democrat, moderate Republicans, ACLU members, liberal activists, and the like. Before you start screaming at the screen and calling me crazy, compare the Communist Goals of 1963 with the agenda of these groups. I think anyone who has an ounce of common sense can figure this one out!
I am not going to waste my energy going over the finite details of their agenda. They simply see a world in which there are only two groups - the governmental powers and the helpless individuals for which the government exists and provides their every need. That is where I differ! As a conservative and like my proud American forefathers, I believe the government should play a very limited role in our lives. "We the people" should be, without the intrusion of government into every aspect of our lives, allowed to live in harmony with each other with our freedom. Justice has been tainted by greed, power, and political agendas. A conservative believes that every human has the right to live and the right to gain prosperity through free enterprise and capitalism. A conservative believes that we ourselves hold the responsibility to make ourselves prosperous without the need or requirement of exterior assistance. A true conservative believes that we all have the right to state what we desire to speak. I must stop for a second to say that conservatives also believe in the value of commen sense! Of course, there are limits to what we should say publicly. As a Christian, I understand the value of morals and obstaining from words of hatred, false statements, greed, disrespect, and so forth. We do not need laws for these things. We simply need common sense. Common sense and contentment would solve a myriad of today's problems.
Liberals believe, and very intently, that there are certain individuals that simply cannot improve their status in life and must be assisted by the government. These individuals are provided a place to live, food to eat, and an allowance for clothing. They are clumped together in housing projects or areas of a town or city with mediocre to poor living conditions, and they find themselves in a rut of life in which they cannot seem to remove themselves. Since Christianity teaches the principles of love, freedom, morality, self-control, and contentment, liberals try to remove Christianity from the arena of public life, as it prohibits the progress of their political agenda. With Christianity, you learn the value of hard work and gain the hope of a better life (both physically and spiritually). With liberalism, you learn to become dependent on others for your status in life with little to no hope of advancement in life. One begins to accept that this way of life is their lot they have been dealt. Liberalism is a system of corruption and injustice.
Even on my worst days as a conservative, I have more joy in my heart and soul than all liberals combined. On the many occasions that I have conversed with liberal-thinking individuals, I find nothing but hatred, sadness, hopelessness, and bitterness. There is a joy you can receive only when you exert the energy to make your life better. There is little joy, if any, in knowing that a government is taking care of you (a.k.a. controlling you).
If you are reading this today and you find that you have aligned your life with that of the ideals of liberals, realize that you are following the path of socialism and communism (see the link above). That was the path of the former USSR, and even though they were freed from communism, that time in history has taken its toll on the people of Russia. Under communism, fear and hopelessness flowed like a river through the people. If you love freedom and your life in America, you must turn to conservatism to gain the hope of a future lined with freedom, justice, and liberty.
If you are reading this today as a conservative, stand and fight! We must fight to hold to our freedom. There is a battle raging to remove our freedom. Our national sovereignty is at stake. America is the only force in this world holding the United Nations from taking control of the entire world. Our forefathers fought hard, shed their own blood, and some died paupers (financially broke) to see that we had freedom and justice! I say that I will do the same to make certain that my children enjoy the same freedoms we are meant to enjoy. The joys of conservatism keep me going each day. My desire is to return to an America that stands with love for God, denounces the evil of pornography and sensual pleasures that destroy our children and families, protects each other, exhibits contentment over greed, practices personal responsibility, and lowers taxes and limits government at all levels. I know we can obtain it if we work together for each other and not simply ourselves (and our wallets). Let us become our forefathers!
May each of you enjoy a wonderful and joyous Christmas season this year with your families!

Emerging Russia

Elections have just been held in Russia, a supposedly democratic government. United Russia party received enough votes to take 70% of the legislature - insuring President Vladimir Putin a de facto presidency beyond the end of his official term (according to sources inside Russia). The vote, however, is seen by many to be unfair and even stated that many voters were forced to vote for the United Russia party or face termination of employment or loss of pensions. It is known that President Vladimir Putin is a former member of the KGB Intelligence, and he has been working to return Russia to a socialistic society. This is evident by the takeover of various free-enterprise industries - energy, transportation, telecommunication, and so forth - by placing top Kremlin officials as the "CEOs" of these organizations. In all reality, the organizations are not "free enterprise" but rather state operated. President Putin has been orchestrating a return to communism via "free elections" that are controlled by his cabinet and the management they place in control of the various companies and organizations within Russia. Recent reports indicate that President Putin has begun the process of rebuilding Russia's military by ordering the manufacturing of warplanes and other military equipment. Those who think Russia is out of the game after U.S. President Ronald Reagan helped bring an end to the Cold War must reconsider her strength. I have seen updates on Russia's military equipment available for use today, from warplanes and tanks to nuclear-capable/ready ICBMs and nuclear-ready submarines. Russia will emerge as a superpower in the global arena! She has to. It is documented in Ezekiel that Gog (Russia) will join forces with Magog (Iran) to attempt to bring the annihilation of the small country of Israel. Although the timing of events relating to this Biblical prophecy are unknown, one need only listen to daily news reports out of Tehran to know how much hatred exists against Israel by Iran. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad can be heard repeatedly calling for the annihilation of Israel, and you can put money on the fact that he is pursuing nuclear fuel for the primary purpose of creating nuclear warheads that will be added to the ICBMs in production as this is being written. Iran recently stated that the new ICBMs being manufactured will not only be able to reach Israel but able to strike areas within the heart of Europe. If this does not sound like arm-twisting our allies, I don't know what to tell you! Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is an evil man with an evil agenda.

Beware the coalition of Gog and Magog! The mainstream news media outlets do not portray the true story, but it is my duty to inform readers and listeners of the danger that is looming in the world today. You can count on the fact that if I uncover new facts regarding impending dangers, you will find it here! I am keeping a close eye on the activities between Russia and Iran. Russia is emerging as a superpower and her neighbor is a growing nuclear terrorist threat.

Keep your eyes open and check back here soon!

Too PC for Christmas?

Most people I talk to are disappointed that the warm days of summer have again come and gone, and they become weary-minded about the onset of fall. I personally love the fall season with the leaves changing colors and floating softly to the ground. I love the atmosphere that is created as the temperature begins to decline. Now, as I write this, I am sitting in my office in central Florida where we experience two seasons - Hot and Hotter. However, I can easily let my mind drift back to the years I spent in New Jersey shortly after college. After Daylight Savings Time ended, the drive home from the office was rather dark, but I would put the windows of my Dodge Durange down and enjoy the cool air entering my SUV. As Thankgiving passed, the temperatures dropped even lower and the chances of snow began to enter the daily forecast. This brought my favorite season of the year - Christmas!

Yes, Christmas! Not "Happy Holidays" or "Seasons Greetings" or "Wintertime". It is Christmas! People seem to have lost the true meaning and spirit of Christmas. I miss the days when Christmas caroling was a major event for the neighborhood. I become so disappointed with our local, state, and federal governments that prohibit the idea of Christmas in our public squares due to the political correctness of our world. For the sake of a few who have not seemed to acknowledge the love, grace, and mercy of the Creator we all suffer the removal of Christmas from many areas of our life. I heard the other day that some store managers prohibit their staff from even speaking the words "Merry Christmas" to customers.

Christmas is a time of hope, a time of family and friends, and a time to reflect especially on what our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did for us. I love to drive down the road listening to the sounds of Christmas. Even "Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer" gets my spirits lifted. I especially love that jingle "Grandma got runover by a reindeer". "Frosty the Snowman", "White Christmas", "It's a Wonderful Life", and so many more television shows make the season merry. To me, though, Christmas isn't Christmas without hearing "O Little Town of Bethlehem", "Silent Night, Holy Night", "Joy to the World", "We Three Kings", and many more Christian hymns about the birth of Jesus.

Christmas is a wonderful time to spend with family. Although Christmas definitely isn't about shopping, though retailers might try to make you believe that, it is fun to spend time together finding those things your loved one would enjoy. It isn't about getting someone a gift more expensive than your opposing relative did. The idea of gift-giving stems from the fact that God gave His most precious Son as the ultimate gift to mankind, so we show our love for our friends and relatives by locating that special gift that will show them how much we love them. Most today try to use it as a time to impress someone rather than simply extend great love. I miss those days.

My wife and I traveled to Orlando to see the Glenn Beck Christmas Tour show, and we were both delighted with the performance. It was a rather simple show about the true meaning of Christmas, and I agree with Glenn that it is not about Santa or the wintery weather or the family parties or the food. It is ultimately about the One who was born in a humble manger, died a cruel death, but rose from the grave to give us the one gift we all needed but could never obtain on our own - REDEMPTION. We all need redemption from our sins, and that was the ultimate gift ever given.

Each Christmas, I am reminded of this gift. I try not to get so wrapped up in the gift buying, the parties, or the other secular events. I make sure that my children and family know that Christmas is about Christ, so we read the story of Christmas from Luke 2 each year.

While we are rushing to this store and that store over the next few weeks or driving around looking at the beautiful displays of lights, let us none forget what Christmas really means. Let us continue to fight to keep our rights to observe Christmas with no objections. Let us enjoy that warmth and hope that comes this time of year. May this season bring joy and a renewal of our spirit that will carry us through the next year.

Merry Christmas!

I have plans to be in New Jersey this year for Christmas. I am praying for snow. I am praying for income. After being wrongly fired from my previous job, I have come to realize that God is using this past year to bring me to the bottom to totally rely on Him. It is tough to be a husband and father of four with no job, no income, negative balances in the bank accounts and be facing Christmas. However, it has certainly brought me to the point at which Christmas is ALL about Him. There is no money for gifts this year, but we still have each other. We still have Him! I think it will be a great time to teach the childen that Christmas is about God giving to us and us giving to Him. I believe it will be a fun Christmas!

May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas season. Enjoy it!
